Denmark Street
Filled with unique independent music stores and recording studios, Denmark Street is one of the most revered streets in the music industry. If like me, you are obsessed with music history, it’s an absolute must!
It was once known as “Tin Pan Alley” where artists such as The Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath and David Bowie all recorded and hung out in the Giaconda café. Whilst those unruly pioneers of Punk, the Sex Pistols once lived above number six.
The street has since been awarded a blue plaque, marking its cultural significance and importance in British music history.
A few of the exceptional stores on this famous street, which I recommend visiting are:
Regent Sounds – one of the most knowledgeable Fender and Gretsch dealers in London
Sixty Sixty Sounds – a first-class super stylish store, featuring Gibson and Epiphone
Hank’s Guitar Shop – (aka Denmark Street Guitars), explore three floors packed full of wall to wall music
Wunjo Guitars – expert advice, with a specialist shop for bass and keys
No.Tom Guitars – the go-to place for vintage and classic guitars
