The Viktor Wynd Museum of Curiosities, Fine Art & Natural History
This obscure and enigmatic museum, features Viktor Wynd’s personal collection of extremely rare and extraordinary curiosities from across the globe. A word of advice - his exhibit is not for the faint hearted, with his astonishing pieces intended to reveal the horrors and the wonders of the natural world.
The museum is tucked away underneath The Last Tuesday Society’s absinthe cocktail bar, which is also decorated with mystical items from Wynd’s acquisitions. When you head down the spiral staircase you’ll be shocked by the amount of unusual and historic artifacts, which fill this one-of-a-kind East London basement.
When I visit I can easily spend a good hour or so down here looking through the cabinets filled with bizarre relics and walls decorated with surreal displays including: shrunken heads, terrifying taxidermy, objects of magic, mummified fairies and even the gold-plated skull of Pablo Escobar’s hippopotamus!
This is the U.K’s only curiosity museum and is well worth a visit to be truly amazed.
