El Pastor

Hands down, El Pastor is one of my favourite Mexican taquerias in London. They have several restaurants dotted around the city, but I would highly recommend visiting their original site based on the iconic Stoney Street, which is situated within Borough Market.

They are a lively family run organisation serving up some truly authentic Mexican dishes, making all of their tortillas in-house using heritage Mexican corn. Ordering a combination of their signature tacos to sample a variety of flavours is a great way to do it – the Crab, Baja and Chicken options are all truly fantastic. Plus, order a range of their mouth-watering sides including endless amounts of tortilla chips, fiery salsa, refried beans and toasted buttered corn for good measure. You can always tell the quality of a Mexican restaurant by their salsa and at El Pastor they make theirs fresh to perfection every day, whilst offering three levels of hotness for those who like to heat it up a bit.

Because of the origin of their founder’s, who have strong roots to Mexico City, they have seamlessly brought the true flavours of Mexico to the streets of London.
